NFDC MAT Awards Nominations
By Nikki • Jun 8th, 2009 • Category: General NewsNorth Fulton Drama Club is proud to announce that we have been nominated seven times in five categories for our Fall 2008 Production of William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet.
The MAT Awards was founded by Russ Ivey in October of 2004 with the intention of recognizing hardworking individuals who choose to participate in volunteer/community theater. Each year, an Award Ceremony is held to honor those participants who have given their time and talent in producing high-quality community theater.
NFDC Nominees are:

Leading Actress – Julie Gibbs as Juliet
- Major Supporting Actress – Qate Bean as Mercutio
- Major Supporting Actress – Jessica DeMaria as the Nurse
- Minor Supporting Actor – Jim Dailey – Capulet
- Minor Supporting Actor – Thomas Strickland – Prince Escalus/The Apothecary
- Minor Supporting Actress – Dorie Turner as Lady Capulet
- Moira Thornett Director’s Award – Alyssa Jackson & Thomas Strickland
The Awards Ceremony will be held at the The Earl Smith Strand Theatre in Marietta on September 27, 2009. Congratulations to all the nominees!
