New Podcast!

By Nikki • Apr 13th, 2008

So it’s been a long time since we recorded a podcast of our own. We’ve been pretty lucky on that front, since Joe Winter at Atlanta Performs had about three years’ worth of content and kept posting it. Alas, Joe seems to be fresh out, and so we are forced to create some new content. Check it out over at Georgia Podcast Network:

NFDC Podcast 14: Barbies Trust You (And Other Lessons Overheard)

Featuring: Myself, Thomas, and Alyssa, with cameos from Zip, Sean, Jessica, Sara, & Jim, and a shout out to my friend Sally.

Staple it to a telephone pole

By Nikki • Mar 30th, 2008

Don’t, actually, because it’s probably illegal to do so, but the spirit is there: get the word out! This poster was designed by our friend Dayna Cotter, who also did this kind of work for us on the Merry Wives poster.

Download the color poster or download the black and white one, but download one and start getting them up on campus or at your school! Print one to hang up at your cubicle, take one to your local coffee shop . . . the possibilities are endless and people are friendly, especially when you’re trying to put up something as pretty as this!

We Are A 501(c)3!

By Thomas • Mar 26th, 2008

North Fulton Drama Club is pleased to announce that our application for recognition of tax-exempt status has been approved! As of March 22, 2008, North Fulton Drama Club was issued a favorable advance ruling of 501(c)3 status. Among other things, this means that contributions to North Fulton Drama Club(, Inc.) are tax deductible.

It feels a bit like we’ve won an award. And so …

NFDC would like to thank anyone and everyone who has performed in our shows, who worked backstage, who came to see our performances or who just generally encouraged us to go forward with this endeavor. Beyond that sweeping appreciation, we need to thank our friends at Atlanta Performs for being so welcoming toward our fledging idea of a theater company. Thank you to Robert and the staff at Barrington Hall for allowing us to stage our performances in such a beautiful, historic location. Rusty and Amber at Georgia Podcast Network were among the first who believed in what we were doing, so they are to be thanked as well. Also, a mighty “Thank You” is due to Georgia Lawyers for the Arts in general and our attorney, Kimberly K. Haynes, specifically. Without their help, that stack of IRS forms would’ve remained practically unintelligible and our questions of when and how would’ve gone unanswered.

And now that we’re real, this is where the work only gets harder, where the performances only get better and where the ideas only get bigger.

You’re welcome to join us. Our production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream opens in May, on the 2nd. We’ll run on Friday and Saturday nights for three weeks with one Sunday matinĂ©e performance on May 4th. As we did with Merry Wives last fall, we’re offering tables for reservation at $40 for seating six. Once again, food from Fickle Pickle can be added to your table order for $8 a meal. Of course, our huge general admission seating area is still just as free for those who wish to bring their own low chair, blanket and picnic. Donations will be accepted … and hey, now they’re even tax-deductible!

Visit the Midsummer show page for more information — and further instructions on making a reservation.

Yes, We Are On MySpace

By Thomas • Mar 9th, 2008

After much consideration, we’ve bowed to the polite insistence of our peers and established our own corner of MySpace. And so, should you be so inclined, feel free to head on over and become our Friend. And do it soon, because our only friend right now is that Tom fellow.

And he looks a little shifty …

NFDC Featured on ACPA’s Podcast

By Nikki • Mar 6th, 2008

Again! I know. You’d think we’d have exhausted ourselves talking by now, but apparently not.

Give a listen, and huge thanks to Joe Winter for listening to us talk for apparently the majority of our natural lives.

Additional Audition for A Midsummer Night’s Dream

By Nikki • Feb 11th, 2008

North Fulton Drama Club is holding one additional night of open, non-equity auditions for William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Wednesday, February 13 at 7pm. Auditions will be held on the property of Barrington Hall, which is located 535 Barrington Drive, Roswell, GA.

We are looking to fill two roles, one larger (about 50 lines) and one smaller role. Specifically we need to see males portraying a part ages 18-25 and a man or woman portraying a role 30-50. We are very interested in seeing actors from any and all ethnic backgrounds. You may contact us by phone at 404-444-4605 or by email at nfdramaclub[at]gmail[dot]com.

Moving Day

By Nikki • Feb 7th, 2008

Just a note to let you know that our host will be moving this site on Friday night from one server to another. This means some downtime on Friday night, from 10pm PST until 6am PST the next day. The site should reappear on schedule. If it does not, rest assured we are on the case.

New Season, New Site

By Nikki • Jan 24th, 2008

So you may have noticed some changes around here. We hope you like them. As with any website redesign, there may be some bugs that we’ve not yet found. If you see anything that looks out of place or incorrect, please let us know! Take a screenshot and email it to nfdramaclub at gmail dot com, and we’ll look into it.

Of course, this website is best displayed using the awesomeFireFox browser, but any standards-compliant browser should do the trick.

We’re Featured In Another Atlanta Performs Podcast

By Thomas • Jan 19th, 2008

In the final part of an interview we did with Joe Winter, our friend-on-the-inside at Atlanta Performs, Thomas, Nikki and Alyssa talk about progressing toward becoming real, evolving into a company that requires a holiday party and watching our younger actors grow. The interview was conducted back in the early fall (I think) at Manuel’s Tavern in Virginia-Highlands, so the recording has this great crowd ambiance throughout.

As you might expect, the podcast is on the podcast page of the Atlanta Performs website, dated January 10, 2008.
